Four rookie quarterbacks in the NFL.
These are four rookie quarterbacks in the NFL who have had an outstanding beginning this season. Two of them were drafted during round 1, one was drafted on round 4, and the last one was undrafted.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Carson Wentz played college football at North Dakota State. At the NFL Draft, he was drafted during round 1 by the Philadelphia Eagles. On May 12, 2016, Wentz signed a deal worth $26.67 million for four years. His strong characteristics are a strong arm, field vision, accuracy, and mobility.
The Eagles have ensured to keep him as quarterback for the 2017 and 2018 season by trading three top 100 picks this year. The team has a game scheduled for next Thursday, Sept. 1 but due to an injury to the ribs, Wentz’s participation against the New York Giants is uncertain.
This rookie quarterback was born and raised in Marin County, California. His college career took place at California State. He was the first pick in round 1 (as expected) by the Los Angeles Rams. On the pitch, Goff has demonstrated a good arm, accuracy, and good field vision.
On June 9, 2016, Goff signed a four-year deal worth $27.9 million.
While playing college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Dak Prescott held all passing records. The rookie quarterback from Sulphur, Louisiana was drafted 135th overall in round 4 by the Dallas Cowboys. Prescott, being a rookie quarterback, was selected to play the opening game of the season due to a back injury on Tony Romo, Cowboys’ veteran quarterback.
Prescott is outstanding as a great thrower but his pocket passing could be improved.
Maybe he is the least outstanding on our list. His problem started when his last college season for TCU ended early due to his arrest for fighting at a bar and assaulting an officer. He went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. He signed a deal for three years for $1.6 million with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent.
