Eric Weddle Will Report To The Chargers Minicamp David Canter
Eric Weddle’s agent, David Canter, has stated that chargers safety will be attending the Chargers mandatory minicamp that is set to kick off on Tuesday. Canter took to his Twitter account to announce the news thus resting any questions on whether or not Weddle will report for the Chargers mandatory minicamp.
It has been a very rocky offseason for Chargers with regards to the contractual issues between the team and Eric Weddle, who is at his final year of his contract with the Chargers, has stated that he feels disrespected by the Chargers organization especially how they chose to handle his contractual issues.
Weddle, 30, has skipped the Chargers voluntary workouts with many sources indicating that he wants a new deal with the team.
The move by Weddle and his agent to make sure that he attends the three-day Chargers mandatory minicamp is considered a wise move by many as Weddle would have faced a fine totaling up to 70,000 dollars if he missed all the three days.
Weddle has been a big part of the Chargers, in fact he is the only NFL safety who has actually been named at least 1st or 2nd team all-pro for a remarkable 5 straight seasons.
How things will play out between Weddle and the Chargers is yet to be known but analysts do believe that the two camps, Weddle’s agent and the Chargers organization, will come to an agreement as we edge closer to the regular season.
